Stress Management (Destry Masterson)

Ever feel overwhelmed? Everyone has those days or even weeks where everything goes wrong; you're behind on your mortgage, having marriage problems, a big project at work due, your car breaks down, you're late for work, and to top it all off you have a cold.

You have so much to do, but all you want is to take a break and calm down. Well, why can't you?

When you are stressed, your health is affected too (the cold). Everyone knows that in order to recover from a cold, you need a lot of sleep, resting, and some chicken noodle soup.

But if you don't have time for a day off, you don't need to just give up. Just take an hour here or there every day; it will make a huge difference.

With stress management, there are a few techniques that will help you to greatly reduce (or even conquer) your stress. Firstly, you need to solve your problems.

That doesn't mean you need to get everything done in one day. That's just not always possible!

However, having a plan in place (and following it!) will give you a sense of relief and peace of mind. Oftentimes, people feel overwhelmed or stressed because they have a lot to do and they don't know how they are going to do it.

Granted not all problems are solvable, which brings us to the nest tip: keeping an objective point of view. When you see things with a logical perspective, you will take a logical approach.

If you realize that there's nothing more you can do to, like being late for work, then you can accept it and move on. Once you know that you've reached that point where there's no hope for making it on time, you can simply start planning how you're going to make up for it.

Don't worry about whether or not your boss will be mad at you because there's nothing you can do about it. Instead, brace yourself or it and make arrangements to prevent it from happening again.

Earlier it was mentioned that taking an hour here and there will help you recover from your cold. It can also prevent stress too!

If you are going and going all the time and never have a break or a chance to relax, then your body will force you to. Eventually, you are going to crash and become completely unable to go to work for a day.

By taking an hour here and there to relax, you are giving yourself time to unwind and letting your mind take a break. Your mind and body need a break once in a while; your annual vacation isn't enough.

In conclusion, occasional relaxation and unwinding is very important. It gives you time to take a break from your problems.

If you set aside simply an hour each day or two, you will see great improvements in your life and stress. By small little changes in your life, whether it be an attitude adjustment or simply planning ahead, you will feel your worries go down and you sense of accomplishment go up.
